Westwood BuildingCalumet City, located southeast of Chicago, is a modest and diverse town with a great sense of community pride. Nearly 40,000 people call Calumet City home, and many do so because of its affordable housing, its ideal location, its quality educational system, and its abundance of recreational opportunities.

A wide variety of housing styles, including brick ranches, classic bungalows, and spacious split-levels at affordable prices, makes Calumet City appealing to those looking for their first home. Residents have access to excellent health care through numerous clinics and health service facilities, including Ingalls Family Care Center with emergency care provided around the clock. Plus, St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare's North Campus hospital is located just one block from the city limits. Those who live in, work in, or visit the city can rest easy thanks to the exemplary professional services provided by the Calumet City Police and Fire Departments.

South Suburban CollegeQuality education is available through the public school system or at a number of private schools, all of which offer outstanding educational programming and numerous extracurricular activities. Calumet City is also home to the Westwood College of Technology and to nearby South Suburban College.

And there's no reason to leave town to do your shopping. River Oaks Shopping Center features nearly 100 stores under one roof. Other successful retail centers, like the Wentworth Mall and the Burnham Avenue retain district, are located throughout town and include everything from large department stores to stylish boutiques and family-owned and -operated businesses.

At the forefront of the drive to retain the healthy business climate is the Calumet City Chamber of Commerce, an active organization that for more than 60 years has been the leader of the business firms in town.
