Val Williams is semi-retired and currently works part-time for the City of Calumet City on Special Projects.  She is owner of V Williams LLC – a consulting company with expertise in economic development, and grant writing/research.  Ms. Williams is also a retired Associate Professor from Purdue University Northwest and serves on various committees and organizations that bring positive influence to the Chicago Southland region.  Ms. Williams possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois - as well as a Master’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.

As a mother, a grandmother, and a long-life resident of Calumet City,  I am extremely proud of serving as the Hispanic Coordinator for the office of Mayor Jones, as well as to be serving as a member of the board for the Calumet City Chamber of Commerce. Thank you for allowing me to serve Calumet City and its wonderful residents!

Kenny Jones is a 23-year resident of Calumet City. He is currently the Director of ESDA for the City. Prior to becoming the Director of ESDA, Mr. Jones worked for AT&T holding many management positions in the company. He retired from AT&T as a Retail Manager in August 2020.

Although he possesses a degree in accounting, management is where he spent most of his career.  He is very passionate about serving the community in which he work and lives. Mr. Jones served 6 years in the Military and is currently serving as a Board Member on the Campbell United Block Club. He is always willing to lend a helping hand to make Calumet City a better place to live.

Antonio Magaña is a Community Organizer for the City of Calumet City and also serves with Calumet City Emergency Services and Disaster Agency. Mr. Magaña has a year plus experience in the entertainment / hospitality industry with Horseshoe Hammond Casino. Mr. Magaña has developed public speaking skills, critical thinking and team coordination within Horseshoe Hammond Casino as well as a former police explorer, now currently junior advisor with Calumet City Police Department Explorer Post 1200. Mr. Magaña hopes to utilize these skills with his fellow board members to create success in the Chamber of Commerce. 

Jesse Tate is a long-time resident and business owner in Calumet City.  He and his wife (Debbie) owns Tate’s Tees – a custom T-shirt and clothing business.

Mr. Tate is a staff member of the CED (Community and Economic Development) organization that promotes business opportunities that includes growth and visibility. 

Mr. Tate holds technical certifications from South Suburban College and displays strengths in communication and the implementation construction technology.  As the Boots on the Ground Coordinator of the CED, Mr. Tate meets with the business community one on one.

Patrick Rush serves as the Vice President of Administration of South Suburban College. Mr. Rush earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Purdue University, and a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from Governor’s State University. His current areas of supervision include Business & Accounting, Physical Pant, Campus Police, Information Technology, and Human Resources.

As an organizational leader, Mr. Rush has enjoyed a 20-year career effecting change in the public sector and private sector. His strengths include public speaking, relationship building and organizational development. His roles have included a diverse background in leadership and strategic planning, along with many successes in board development, institutional advancement, management, marketing, and student and staff engagement. Through these experiences, Mr. Rush has created and executed plans for growth and efficiency by utilizing his communication, presentational, and analytical skills.
